I met you long, long days ago
When turmoil ruled my life
For reasons I will never know
You saw beyond my strife.
Throughout the early stormy weeks
When problems filled the air
You gave me strength that never breaks
You showed me that you'd care.
You gave me all the pleasant things
My early life had missed
You shared the feelings that love brings
And then at last we kissed.
Your kiss was tender and so sweet
Your eyes so full of love
For that first day when we did meet
I thank the stars above.
My love grows stronger every year
My heart's grown straight and true
For me three children you've have born
I'm lucky I met you.
There's John the older, first born son
And Paul, now he's a treat
And last comes Mary! Oh such joy
Our family's now complete.
The future holds more secrets now
For happiness I'm sure
Whatever happens - this I vow
I'll love you more and more.
